NewSchool 2019 Open House

Product Design | 2019

UX Designer @NewSchool

The NewSchool Open House is an event held at the campus in New York, where its doors are open to the family of students to allow people to look around the institution and learn about it. In 2019 the university was celebrating its centennial anniversary, and I was responsible for creating the visual content for the Event. The School open houses are about two hours long, the length of a good movie or show a well-executed event sets the stage for a successful school year. The face-to-face meetings with families help build relationships, increase the visibility of the parent group, and develop a sense of community at school.

"I created a comprehensive visual package designed to captivate attendees and showcase the institution's rich history and diverse culture.

Using my expertise in graphic design and user experience, I created a comprehensive visual package that was designed to captivate the attention of attendees and promote a sense of community. I collaborated with the event planning team to ensure that the visual content was aligned with the event’s goals and objectives. The package included a range of materials, such as brochures, flyers, banners, and digital content, all of which were designed to showcase the institution’s rich history and diverse culture.

The visual content was an integral part of the Open House experience, and my design approach was guided by the knowledge that the event was only two hours long, the length of a good movie or show. I knew that a well-executed event would set the stage for a successful school year, and I aimed to create an experience that would help build relationships, increase the visibility of the parent group, and develop a sense of community at the school.

Overall, my role as the lead designer involved not only creating visually appealing content but also ensuring that it was aligned with the institution’s brand identity and values. I collaborated closely with the event planning team to ensure that the visual content was effective in engaging and informing attendees. The visual content I created was well received and helped to showcase the institution in a positive light, ultimately contributing to the success of the Open House event and the institution as a whole.
